The Last Frontier...

Alaska continues to hold a special place in my heart. This summer marked my second journey to the Last Frontier—and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Rugged mountains, vast glaciers, misty fjords, and untamed wildlife offered scenes that pushed my creativity and tested my patience behind the lens in the most rewarding ways. I returned with images that speak not only of the visual grandeur of this land but also of its raw, unfiltered wildness. One of the most unforgettable moments was spending an entire day fishing—shoulder to shoulder with mama grizzly bears and their playful cubs. It’s difficult to describe the sense of awe that comes from sharing a riverbank with these majestic creatures, completely on their terms. There was a quiet understanding, a rhythm to their movement that you begin to notice only when you stand still long enough. Photographing grizzlies with salmon in their mouth and cubs clumsily mimicking their mothers, bald juvenile eagles swooping down to pick up salmon—was both exhilarating and humbling. This trip also gave me the opportunity to revisit familiar landscapes with a fresh eye. From the sharp ridgelines above the Kenai Fjords to the soft, reflective waters of hidden inlets, I was able to refine my compositions this time. As an icing on the cake, 8 different humpback whales coordinated in a bubble-net feeding, sounding their famous feeding call and corralling herring to the surface - "a la National Geographic," as per the captain of the cruise. What I treasure most from this trip is not just the portfolio I brought back—but the sense of connection I felt being immersed in such a wild environment. There’s a kind of clarity that comes from being surrounded by bears, birds, whales, mountains, and sea. Alaska doesn’t just give you photos—it transforms the way you see and feel the world. I hope this new collection brings a piece of that wilderness to you. Thank you for following my journey. I can’t wait to share these new photographs with you—and maybe inspire your own adventure into the heart of the wild.
